Before I start on this blog post, The Toys R Us sale for these will be running until the end of April 2019! The sale only covered the older seasons of certain blind bag\mystery box toys. I had promised myself last year that if I ever caught the World Vacation season of Shopkins on sale, I would buy a few. Turns out Toys R Us had several older seasons on sale so I bought some of those as well.
I will also be experimenting a bit with more videos!
Toys R Us Shopping
Hanazuki from Hasbro
Hanazuki is a random blind bag I saw while browsing through the Shopkins aisle. I couldn’t really tell what it was from the packaging but it was 3 blind bags for 100php so I thought I’d give it a try. The last time I did something like this was with the Zomlings which I also caught on sale. Both turned out pretty good.
Each bag had 2 treasure that had these notches on the back and a face on the bottom. I found out later on that the face was actually a code you can scan on the Hanazuki app. The notches is for a bluetooth bracelet to put them on.
I actually found the mobile app really fun. It is like a planting sim. You don’t need to have the toys but they are a huge boost. Here is how to scan the toy into the app. Sorry for the humming noise, it has been real hot here so the fan can get a little noisy.
I have a lot of fun playing this tamagotchi like app. I will probably keep it for a while. Nice little free game that you can get from both App Store and Google Play. The toys themselves though, I am not sure what to do with after capturing.
Shopkins Happy Places
So I have always wanted to buy some Shopkins. I posted a few years ago about a counterfeit one I bought from a bazaar. The difference between that and the real thing is night and day.
Toys R Us had Happy Places on sale for 75php a pack. I originally only wanted the World Vacation but I curious about these as well. Also the Halloween themed one had a really cute cat on the box.
The pieces for this series could get really really small though. Always afraid I may lose a small piece. I only bought 2 packs since I also bought some of the World Vacation ones.
These small pieces are really worrying to be honest. Seems easy to lose. Specially the slice of cake one.
They also came with small lavender platforms that could be attached to each other. You can display the figurines on those.
Shopkins World Vacation Asia
This season is a lot more like the usual Shopkins. There are no overly small pieces and I like it because it is Asia themed! I also found the drawings on the package really cute. I prefer that pumpkin cat though!
Some of the coloring looks a little smudged on one of the figurines but it isn’t that noticeable until you look at it real close.
They also came with a stack able shelf you can display the figurines in. I rather like those as well.
I am thinking about getting a few more. Not 100% sure yet but will post if I do! Toys R Us also has a big summer sale lasting until May 2019 but I was told that these toys will only be on sale until the end of April.
Thanks for reading.
