Bubble Solution Recipe and Tips

Bubble solution diy

I have always like bubbles. I used to make some with soap and water but the bubble never really lasted long nor did they get big enough. One day I decided to do a little research and found this interesting website.

To clear up some things, a lot of the recipes here can have ingredients that can be hard to find. Most are imported and not always in stock.

You can try and substitute but my bubbles are a lot better using the specific ingredients the recipe called for.

Bubble Solution Ingredients

1 liter tap water
50ml Dawn Ultra dish washing detergent (The blue one!)
1/2th tsp Baking Powder
1/4th tsp Guar Gum

Where did I buy the ingredients?

Dawn Ultra dish washing detergent is from True Value at 530ml for 350php. The guar gum was from Healthy Options at 750php for 227grams. I couldn’t find a smaller one. There was a Shopee seller with a much larger bag.

Preparation

I mix up the dish washing detergent, baking powder, and guar gum first. If I plan on bringing it on a trip, I keep that in a small bottle and just mix it up in water when I want to use it. I also bring a small plastic bowl for dipping.

You can use water straight from the tap but I noticed my bubbles look much less oily if I used newly boiled water. If you do use boiled water, add the mixture right after taking it off the heat, mix, then let cool before using.

Bubble Wands

I use 2 large balloon sticks. They are the biggest ones I can found. Each is 19php at toy stores. The string is made of cotton gauze 4” x 6 yards is 50php. I wound and attached the string onto the sticks with a rubber band.
