Been wanting to try out this Yoyoso Wide Angle lens that I got while out of town. I do have a DSLR but it does get cumbersome to bring around everywhere. Having a smartphone with a good camera helps me feel less bad about not lugging my DSLR around when a photo opportunity comes up.
Yoyoso Wide Angle Clip-on Lens
I need to apologize because I had to get rid of the plastic container it came in! But inside were just the lens with clip, pouch, and a lens cap. The lens cap has no locking mechanism, it just fits over most of the lens.
The clip feels sturdy but it is made of plastic. You can easily remove the lens from the clip by twisting it off. Nice for when you need to clean it.
There are small pieces of rubber on the inside of the clip to avoid scratches on your phone. This is good because I couldn’t use this with my phone case on. I had to remove the phone case or else parts of the lens would appear on the edges of the image. My phone also has a curved back, so that might give you problems as well.

Took me a minute or so to adjust the Yoyoso Wide Angle lens on my phone properly. First couple of shots were mostly blurred so I moved the lens around a bit. These were the clearest shots I took. Notice that the image is sharp on the center while getting blurry moving out.

Real nice for some artistic shots but for landscape, it will cause some blurring around the edges. Here are some of the test shots I took.
All in all, a really neat find. I got it for 199php and thought I’d give it a try. Gives photos a different effect and is easy to carry around.
