Converge ICT First Month Experience

A little background of our ISP history. We originally had PLDT but the constant disconnections and very disappointing customer support pushed us to switch to Globe. We had Globe for maybe 9 years before going to Converge.

So I will start with when I got the news Converge ICT was setting up in my area. It was around September of 2017. By early 2018, I had heard that some people were signing up for it so I asked around. The big news finally came around March 2018. I called the number on the flyers they were giving out in our area.

Application

Application forms were delivered to the house. Odd, but very convenient for me. Took me a while to talk to everyone and ask if trying out the new ISP on the block would be ok. We chose to keep our Globe internet while we tried out Converge.

I made some mistakes on the form but my contact was kind enough to send me another form to fill out. By the way, someone picked up the forms from our home as well. We took the “No cash out” promo that was going on then. Me and my mom read that flyer over and over and knew that we were going to have to pay for the installation on our first bill.
The plan we chose was the 25mbps 1500php per month with no cap.

In a weeks time, someone came to our house to talk about the wires. They gave us fiber optic wire to install in our house. The technicians can install it for you but we opted to put the wire in ourselves. We were just asked to leave at least 5 meters free in the house and outside the house.

Three days after that, we had someone installing the fiber optics in the ground. There seems to have been some problems so they told us they needed to contact a different group to fix a blockage in their wires.

This was where it got a little messed up. They said someone would be there within the week. That was a Tuesday. Come Friday, I called the numbers I used to get the application form. The number was not available. I tried at different times of day. I even tried the cellphone numbers on the flyers they gave out. No answer.

I went online and asked if anyone else experienced this. I found out I was not alone. One person told me to call the sales number directly. Converge sales number is (02) 667 0848.

I was expecting the worst. I called the sales number and I explained that we were still waiting on someone to continue installation. The agent told me that their system was down but got our application number and told me he would relay it to the installation team once their system was up. I honestly wasn’t hopeful. That was a Saturday.

Sunday morning was a pleasant surprise. The fiber optics installation team came and told us they were checking our wires. They didn’t have a permit to do their work so they told us they would be back the next day.

Monday afternoon came and it was Converge brought us our router! Installed and tested it all. Everything ran perfectly.
The entire installation time for me took around 13 days.

First monthly bill

Come June, we got our first monthly bill. We actually got two copies via post. True to the fine print, we were charged the installation along 10 days of internet from the previous month.

The bill lists out different methods you can chose to pay. I tried to pay for it using BDO Online Banking. The thing is, there was two listed companies and I wasn’t sure which to pay it too.
This is a start of another adventure. Calling the Consumer Billing number.

The bill had numbers that you could contact in case you had any questions. I called the Billing Consumer numbers and got no answer. I tried multiple times but no luck. Next, I tried the Billing Department Corporate. First number also just rang with no one picking up. The second number got through.

I was able to talk to a rep and she explained which company to pay it too. She said if there was a “Converge ICT” choose that instead of “ComClark”.

The Billing Department Corporate representative gave me a different set of numbers to call the next time. If anyone needs the Billing Consumer numbers it is 667 0850 as of April 22, 2019.

It doesn’t end yet!

SMS Error

I went and paid my bill online and thought it was all done. I got an sms from Converge telling me that my bill was due. To my surprise, the amount was different from the amount on the bill they sent via post! It was 600php more.

It was already late so I emailed all the email addresses on the bill about this. In the morning I saw the email replies from Converge and told them about what happened.

An hour or so after that, I get a SMS from Converge saying that they had a SMS billing error and that my amount due was corrected. It was now the same as my bill again. Told Converge that it has been sorted out.

Converge ICT Internet So far

The internet speed has been very good. I have been watching Youtube and Netflix HD all this time. I can also stream videos online. This while the rest of the family is on the internet too.

The upload speed is about equal to the download speed which means my file attaching and video calls are much faster. We only lost internet once and it lasted about 20 minutes. A typhoon came by the other week and we still had internet! Meanwhile our Globe internet died and has not gone back up.

I am really hoping this lasts. I have read of some people having a hard time contacting sales agents or agents giving conflicting prices. Luckily, I did not experience that. Best to contact them directly if you can.

  1. why my 1st bill amounted to P2,214.27? my plan is only P1,500, no cash out but it was only installed February 18, 2019. a text message was received telling that my bill is P2,214.27 to be paid on or before March 20, 2019. How can this be like this?

    1. Hi. There is a installation fee for your first month or so. If you believe this was the wrong number, best to call their Metro Manila help desk or account office to clarify it right away.

    2. diba dapat 1,500p + 125p lang? di ko rin alam kasi inaantay ko pa first billing ko, pero para maiwasan na magulat ako na maputulan or lumaki yung bill ko , i’m thinking na bayaran nalang agad.

      1. Masmaganda po kung tawagan niyo na lang. Baka po nagkamali sa sms. Number po nila ngayon at (02)667 0850.
        Naka breakdown po sa unang bill ko simula nung araw na na-install na yung internet hanggang katapusan ng kasunod na buwan.

My internet subscription was activated April 15, 2019…an sms was received May 20 that I need to view my billing statement for May at my registered email address to which I havent received until now. I have been trying to contact converge…but no reply to my querries..How will I pay the bill since I dont see any amount. Thank you.

  2. Normal lang ba na may deposit na included sa 1st monthly bill? was asking them for bill adjustment dahil palpak yung pag install, 1week kming nawalan ng net dahi don, then eto yung bill

    same experience din po ba? hehe i was advised ksi na yung 1500 na cash out will serve as the deposit which is magagamit sa 24th month ng contract.

    1. Mukhang naiba po yung bill natin. Sa bill ko, installation fee ay 2,500. Wala po nabanggit na deposit or VAT pero baka po pinasok na lang nila sa installation fee namin.

    2. Eto yung option na binayad ko:

      Installation fee P2,500
      Security Deposit Fee P1,500 with burst speed 25 mbps
      Total Initial payment: P 4,000
      Monthly 1500 (24months)

      Yung P1,500 deposit fee refundable after termination ng contract hindi yun ibabawas sa monthly.

      Para saan yung Main line fee? yan yung nirereklamo ko eh walang makausap sa call center nila isang oras na ako naka queue sa line pati sa email hindi sila nag rereply.

      1. Hindi ko po alam. Talagang medyo kulang pa yung customer rep\support nila at ilang beses nagiba yung number na walang abiso.
        Kung may contact po kayo na diretso, try niyo pong tanung sa kanya. Yung contact ko po biglang naglaho initially buti may nahanap ako kapitbahay na may iba pang contact.

      2. hello po! same din po sa akin.. di ko po mawari ang mga main line fee na yan na nandun po sa SOA 🙁 plan 1500 din po ako pero yung bill ko ay 1600.. akala ko talaga na 1500 lang ang babayaran permonth 🙁

        Nakakatanggap po ba kayo ng confirmation galing sa converge na natanggap po nila ang bayad po ninyo?

  3. my first billing 2900php, wlang text nor email from them, mine got installed april 13 pero wlang notification from may and june. nag sms lng cla skin today june 20 due date na daw ..

    1. Best call their billing ASAP. 667 0888. Also double check that the account number the sms mentioned is yours. Might need to talk to someone about your account number and the attached cellphone number and email address to it. They also have a customer support facebook pages here. Hope this helps.

  4. Got a text from them yesterday. Our first bill. Nagulat ako cuz they said P2,075.00 and bill namin pero nung online application, dapat P1,625 lang, which is same amount din sa initial deposit na binayaran ko. I asked a friend na may Converge din dati and sabi nya sa first bill daw talaga is nasa 2k or more ang babayaran due to an insurance kyeme daw pero sa mga susunod, yung exact monthly subs na daw. I still have to check it with their CSR kahit napakahirap nila kontakin.

  5. Naintindihan ko na po yung main line fee. Share ko lang

    Plan: 1500
    Staggered payment for security deposit: 125
    Total: 1,625

    SOA: 1,915 (yung babayaran ko including main line fee)

    As per calling converge, eto po pinagusapan namin regarding main line fee:

    Billing Period: November 1-30, 2019
    Installation date: October 26, 2019
    Due date: November 20, 2019

    Dahil po ang billing period nila is Nov. 1-30, 2019, kailangan ko po bayaran yung naconsume ko nung nagkabit sila which is from October 26-31, 2019.

    So yung na consume ko from Oct. 26-31, 2019 (around Php 290.00) + (November 1-30, 2019 bill Php 1500) + 125 installment = Php 1,915.33

    Yan po yung breakdown. Sa first bill lang daw po yan. Sa next bills, balik na po sa normal na Php 1,625.

  7. Fix po na 1st day of the month til 31st day of the month ang billing nila, so kapag nakabitan kayo ng 15th day last month, kasama po yung 15 days na naconsume nyong araw sa babayaran nyo bale ang computation kapag staggered payment =

    Main line fee this month – 1339.29
    Installation fee – 111.61
    Main line fee last month 15 days – 669.65
    Vat 12% – 236.31
    Total Amount Due – 2356.85

    In other words, maswerte kayo kapag kinabitan kayo ng exact 1st week ng buwan.

  8. For peace of mind, this might help you too. I figured this out thru their Frequently Asked Questions since I was confused with my first billing. I emailed them and they won’t answer queries clearly and will only give SOAs or automatic responses.

    NOTE: Understand that your initial payment consists of Security Deposit (SD) + Installment Fee (IF). It’s NOT an advance payment/ for a recurring mainline bill, it’s the INITIAL Subscription fee. Your security deposit is refundable once you terminate the subscription (which Idk how).

    In my case, I paid the whole upfront free: (SD) P1500 + (IF) P2500 = P4000 total subscription fee. I have a P1500 that I can refund.

    My net was installed on May, 2. Statement of Account (SOA) will be read every 1st day of next month which contains your billing. Do not pay unless you receive your SOA. I received my SOA thru email on June 9 and my first bill amounts P2951.62. It’s true that their SMS notification can be faulty because they updated that my “outstanding balance” is P1451.62 (it will be confusing when you don’t know the computation, see computation below).

    I was so confused and distrusting because I didn’t understand my first billing plus I paid P1500 on June 2 without SOA, it wasn’t reflected on the billing. So I emailed, yet my questions aren’t clarified. This was during ECQ, so it’s frustrating to contact them.

    Here’s what I understood;
    The first Mainline fee is computed from the Day of Installation to the End of its Month. It’s also known as Prorated Charge that you’re ought to pay + Mainline fee of the Recurring Month.

    COMPUTATION: Mainline Fee/31 (Installed Days) = X
    + Recurring bill + Payment for (IF) when stagerred
    = Total amount of the first bill (VAT Included)

    My first bill compute: P1500/31 (30 Days) = P1451.62
    + P1500 (June bill) + 0 (IF)
    = P2951

    The next SOA will consist only of your recurring fee once you paid your first bill. Due date of payment varies but mine is every 20th day of the month, which is unfair for me but safe for them. Just email them if you have more questions, maybe they would reply.

    1. Mainline fee po ba dapat every month nagbabayad? or for 1st month lang? Lagi po kasing may mainline fee sa SOA namin everymonth.

    1. Hindi ko po sigurado. Sa amin kasi installation fee lang tapos normal charge na pero kasi may naka-install na na main line sa area namin. Para po sigurado try nyo na lang po contact yung billing ng Converge.
