Earlier this year, I noticed a spike in the number of people reading my blog. I saw that most of the activity is on my older post about Converge ICT. This is when I realized that it has been a year since we moved to Converge.
To those still thinking of getting Converge ICT internet:
The best tip I see online is to check if anyone in your area has already gotten theirs installed. The service seems different depending on where you are. If you have a barangay \condominium\village Facebook groups, that would be a good place to ask.
Now for my one year update.
Downtimes
There has been a few down times since my first post but none were longer than four days. That was the time when a road excavation hit multiple Converge fiber wires. Because of the amount, the repair teams couldn’t come right away. I waited over a day to inform support about the downtime and by then there were several people needing repair. Fortunately, I was able to get the number of one of the technicians working in our area. I asked them directly for any updates.
Some of the other down times were around 30 minutes to 2 hours long. One reset down time was around 10 hours but a call to the hotline told me that my area and a few others were having trouble that day. Not another excavation gone wrong.
Converge ICT Customer Support
At the moment, you can find Converge help via their facebook page or their hotline (02) 667 0848. The wait can still be pretty long for both. In my area there is also Converge representative you can message. Again this is the current support channels. I think there is a chance this will still change until their new systems settle down.
Last Thoughts
I definitely am pretty happy with our new ISP. The upload is a huge help when adding pictures to my website or uploading videos on Youtube. A video game I play relies on upload speed and it has lessened lag for my hosted sessions considerably.
