Chinese New Year is around the corner! 2016 is the year of the Red Fire Monkey. Can’t wait to eat some tikoy!
With that, I thought I’d go around youtube and look for some interesting monkey origami.

My mom saw me making these and ask for 3 so she can hang then on her desk. This one you can change the arms so that they can hang on things. Looks rather cute with a couple of them hanging and of different colors. If you know how to make a crane or a bird base, this should be familiar to you. You will need to cut some parts so make sure you have your scissors handy.

A more realistic and slightly more pose-able one. Still no tail tho! I found this while I was finalizing this post. I thought it looks pretty cool so I’ll add the link to the tutorial. I’ll post a photo later. You will need a triangle piece of paper and it will need to be cut somewhere.

Love this one. Like the previous one, the hands of the monkey can be changed. The video shows the Three Wise Monkeys, but really you can change the arms to your liking. These can’t stand though. Only need a triangle paper.

Sage looking monkey origami. This one can stand with a little adjustment in the folds. Can add a cane on that arm. Video tutorial has a drawn face on.

I tried to used shiny paper for this one. Kinda looks like a cat to me for some reason.
